About the Journal
The IBU Journal of Urban and Territorial Studies is an open-access digital publication, promoted by the Bolivian Institute of Urbanism (IBU), and is non-profit. Its main objective is to contribute to the development of urbanism in Bolivia by publishing interdisciplinary research that addresses urban and territorial phenomena from various perspectives, such as geography, sociology, planning, architecture, economics, history, and political sciences. The articles submitted to the journal are evaluated through a blind peer-review system and cover topics such as mobility, environment, gentrification, governance, and spatial inequality, among others. The journal invites both scientists and specialists in social sciences and transdisciplinary fields to submit their research.
The IBU Journal prioritizes debates from Ibero-America and the Global South, although it accepts international contributions. Its editorial format includes scientific articles, reviews, policy briefs, and special thematic issues, all subjected to a rigorous editorial process. Additionally, it is supported by a strong national and international scientific committee, composed of experts in urban and territorial areas. The journal also aims to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage by including topics of socio-environmental relevance, establishing itself as a key space for urban and territorial studies.
